COMPRESSION SPRING

Helical coiled spring with a pitch to create an axial pushing force. Typically cylindrical in shape but can be formed in different configurations such as barrel, hourglass, and conical. Spring ends can be ground to improve squareness.
Round wire is the most common for this type of spring but other wires can be used.
State-of-the-art machines are capable of creating infinite shapes and sizes of springs to meet any application. Two point coiling machines yield accurate springs that hold extremely rigorous tolerances.

Basic requirement for spring design:

  • Material
  • Wire size [d]
  • Coil Diameter: Inner [I.D.] Outer [O.D.] or Mean [D]
  • Free Length [Ho]
  • Loads at corresponding deflection [P1, P2, H1, H2]

Our Compression Springs are used in:
Brake Systems / Oil Pumps / Engine Systems / DC Motors etc.

EXTENSION SPRING

Helical coiled spring with no pitch and an initial tension to create an axial pulling force. Different hook shapes available but the German and English hook are the most common types (German Hook shown on diagram). This type of spring is typically made from round wire.

Basic requirement for Extension spring design:

  • Material
  • Wire size [d]
  • Coil Diameter: Inner [I.D.] Outer [O.D.] or Mean [D]
  • Total and Active Coils [Nt]
  • Free Length [Ho]
  • Hook Shape
  • Loads at corresponding deflection [P1, P2, H1, H2]

Our Extension Springs are used in:
Engine Systems / Locking Mechanism / Brake Systems / Seating Applications, etc.

TORSION SPRING

Helical coiled spring that exerts a rotating force or torque. The shape of torsion springs is very versatile but in essence it is comprised of a body of coils and two legs. Torsion springs are typically made from round wire although square and braided wire is not uncommon.

Basic requirement for Torsion spring design:

  • Material
  • Wire size [d]
  • Coil Diameter: Inner [I.D.] Outer [O.D.] or Mean [D]
  • Total Coils [Nt]
  • Leg Lengths
  • Loads at corresponding deflection [P1, P2, H1, H2]

Our Torsion Springs are used in:
Throttle Body / Door Handles / Engine Systems / Seating Applications, etc.

Wire Formings

Wire forms are formed from round wire or strip material and do not have coil body. Ark Technologies can manufacture virtually all types of shaped wire forms for any application.

We produce wire forms with technically advanced CNC forming machine or multi slide machines.

Our Wireforms are used in:
Engine Systems / Lighting Systems / Brake Application / Seating Applications, etc.

STAMPING

Progressive press and multi-slide stamping machines create a variety of stampings that can be found in numerous automotive and non-automotive applications. Most stampings are made from strip wire. Ark Technologies is equipped with 45- and 60- ton presses and many vertical forming machines.

Our Stampings are used in;
Engine Systems / Lighting Systems / Brake Application / Seating Applications, etc.
